Microsoft Just Bought Skype for $8.5 Billion. Official Announcement is Coming Soon

Things are clear between three major giants Microsoft, Google and Facebook to acquire Skype, But it appears that Microsoft has an edge here with more aggressive bid. After WSJ report, Kara of AllThingsD has now confirmed that Microsoft has indeed bought Skype for a staggering amount of $8.5 Billion.

Earlier reports indicated that Facebook and Google were also trying to acquire the telephony giant, but in the end, it was Microsoft with its highly bigger bid which got them the Skype.

Moreover, Skype is expected to be integrated in Windows Live, and may be in other online services of Microsoft in both consumer and enterprise space.
