Apple Respond To “Jailbreak Is Legal” DMCA

The United States court yesterday annouced that jailbreaking and unlocking is legal as long as it follows the DMCA. Because Apple is strictly against the jailbreaking and unlocking of iPhones, so this was a big decision by court against Apple policies.

Apple respond to the decision by court and Apple’s spokesman told cult of mac that jailbreak might be declared legal but i would violate your warranty with Apple.

Apple’s spokesman said:

Apple’s goal has always been to insure that our customers have a great experience with their iPhone and we know that jailbreaking can severely degrade the experience. As we’ve said before, the vast majority of customers do not jailbreak their iPhones as this can violate the warranty and can cause the iPhone to become unstable and not work reliably.

There are over 10 million jailbroken devices which becomes 10% percent of total, so if the jailbreaking was problematic and effect the reliability and stability of device then there shouldn’t be 10 million jailbroken devices. So now the Jailbreaking has been declared legal, we can expect these numbers to increase more in next couple of months. [via cultofmac]
